Şile is a pretty county of us which is far from the noise and disorder of Istanbul metropolis,and far from traffic and its stress.
Şile is the north window of Istanbul which is at the northeast of Marmara Region and which opens to the blue seas through the green from the Black Sea coast.

According to the last census (22 october 2000),Şile county’s general population is 32.923.The part which is 10.571 of this population in the centre of the county.
Remaining 22.352 person has been living in 58 village including Ağva.58 village have 38 quarter,and 4 quarter from the centre of the county.

The villages of Şile are dependant to Centre,Ağva,Yeşil Vadi and Teke subdistricts.45 person in 1 acre.
The meaning of Şile which is a Greek word is wild flower.Şile takes its name from “mercanköşk”which is a plant species.
When Şile is investigated in the history it is seen Şile was founded by the sailors of Milet in the 7.century B.C. and hosted to the different civilizations since then.Furthermore,in the Şile’s history the empires of Lidya, Pers, Galat, Rome, Selçuk, Latin, Bizans and Ottoman took part.
